i'm watching this program about the science behind interstellar and got thinking.

Can't the portland be equiped with an experimental artificial wormhole generator.

I think I should check this side of the forum a bit more often. As long as there is a cascade reaction of some kind, I'm happy :).

Oooh that reminds me, we also want some transphasic meta-rotational frequency specific ablative shielding to create a holo-particle cocoon effect to take the brunt of the energy specific kinetic damage leaving only the tractoring lock for the armoring to ablate, often with a rotating sub harmonic resonance field

But doctor, wouldn't that cause a parabolic destabilization of the fission singularity?

Only on Klingon ships.

So, we were chatting online, and Dave (Tyrlai) came up with something cool:

So we are headed for a Borg showdown. Perhaps something that will help us hide / escape the Borg perhaps even running on a different energy type, giving us a second core and a handful of paranoid techie types in white outfits who are not allowed to speak with anyone on the crew.

"The Dark Energy Spool is a new cutting edge technology that can render a ship undetectable to even Borg sensors by wrapping it in an impernatrable Dark Energy Shroud. In testing the results have been nothing short of amazing with 9 out of our 10 trial runs being able to circumvent a patrol of starfleet vessels to reach a test target. We also expect the tenth trial was successful as well and hope to determine that for sure when we find it. Some crew have reported seeing shadowy clawed shapes lurking at the edge of their vision but we are sure that's just a psychological issue. Similarly, some people have reported hearing voices coming from the dark energy core, sensor readings have not detected any sonic or subsonic emissions from the system at all."

or

"Our new specialized minijump technology is achieved by allowing a small amount of dark energy to be channeled through the nacelles and into the warp field. The directional nature of the resulting spacejump is mostly controllable with the distance covered up to 1 AU with fully 99.997 percent of the ships mass arriving at its intended target. We recommend using this sparingly."

Anyways, I think this is a great idea, so here's what we're going to do. Mission Five will start several months in-character time after Mission Four, and we'll start with a test of this dark energy reactor, interrupted by a hail from Starfleet Command telling us to test it out for real in a recon mission against the Borg.

I'd also like to introduce Sinjinn Lux, who will be our dark energy specialist. He will be part of the engineering department, but really reporting to the eggheads responsible for this horrible creation.

Unfortunately, some personal stuff came up and Sinjinn won't be able to join us.

That said, we can still go ahead with the dark energy reactor idea. I might be bringing back a certain guest star just for this purpose...

So, help me understand.

At the end of Mission Four, Alenis is dead. There's a hologram running around with most of her memories and personality.

Fast-forward to the the Stealing of the Portland thread, and the former crew have nicked the Portland in an effort to rescue Alenis and bring her back to life.

Now we are in Mission Five, several months after Mission Four, and Alenis is alive.

I can see different continuities, but I want to know how they all weave together.

Sorry for being obtuse. :)

Okay, missions 1-4 happen in 2391.

Part of mission 4 also takes place in 2412, where our characters' future selves are trying to save the real Meru.

If everything goes well, Meru will be saved and sent by the prophets back in time to a few days after her funeral in 2391, hence making the 2412 in mission 4 an alternate future.

Then, continuing on with the prime timeline, a few months later in 2392 we have the events of mission five.

Sorry for the confusion, usually we only do one mission at a time but I wanted to get a bit of a head start on mission five so that we would be ready for the joint mission part with the endeavour at the same time.

So my question is, will there be a holo-Meru in addition to the real Captain sent back by the Prophets? Or is the continuity changed, and the hologram that Marcus is assigned to monitor is now... someone else?
