Miranda-class deck plans

Fri Mar 18, 2016 7:28 pm

I found some very well done Miranda-class deck plans produced by Federation Frontiers. These look great and have an amazing level of detail. I realize these differ from this sim's current deck plans and listings, but a major overhaul and refit following the borg attack would be a great excuse for some changes. I sent these to Rouse and was just waiting for a final blessing (or refusal) before they're deemed sim canon. Each image alone is too big to post here, so I had to use imgur. Let me know what you guys think!

The problem is that we're not allowed to change anything on the specs or decklisting without permission from the fleet. And the chance they give permission is very slim. So I'm trying to find a way to use the new deckplans without all the bureaucratic bullshit.

What I like most about those lland is that they are original. No marines, no fighters etc. Like they could be used in the shows.

As a CO myself, I can agree wholeheartedly with Tim. The fleet has very strict standards on what can and can't be done with a ship. The Ship Listing on the OF main page has basically everything that our ships can have. Those deck plans are awesome though and I'd love for us to be able to use them.

Perhaps we could refer to them as an "unofficial reference".

How much different are these deck plans from the deck listing in the fleet?

As a naughty CO, I wonder if I could just say that the Portland has been through so many refits and repairs to battle damage that the deck listing in OF doesn't really apply anymore...

Go for it! All they can say is "stop using that."

@Sean, have you taken a good look at the decklisting of the Endeavour.......

@Brian, yes, your TGCO can be a real jerk.

I have already come up with a reason for the school. They are housed in the Marine Baracks. And if anyone wonders where the Marines are, well, we lost them. They left with their own shuttle and we can't find them anymore.

I was thinking of coming up with similar reasons for the other changes.

I was working on a list of the 'new' deck plans, but the flu got in between. Will continue to compare the two versions asap.

So instead of studying like I should be I've been procrastinating by looking through these deck plans and man they are amazingly detailed. They look beautiful. Maybe the whole refit at Trill could be a good excuse to introduce these plans? Perhaps after the mission on the Breen freighter the crew can all return to find a newly overhauled Portland?

I have noticed that a number of locations in these plans are different to our official deck listing. I know there's some red tape to go through to change this but if it would help I'd be willing to put together a new deck listing using these plans?

That is a good idea -- we could use the damage from the Borg as an excuse to get some refits... any fancy gadgets that we want?
